Brian Drazin is the current president of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America-New Jersey (ATLA-NJ). He has served as an officer in the organization since 1993, and has served on its board of governors for over 15 years. He is also a member of the New Jersey Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Monmouth County Bar Association. He was admitted to practice law in New Jersey and Georgia in 1983. During law school Drazin received the American Jurisprudence Award in Criminal Procedure and was a member of the Emory University Law School's prestigious Moot Court Team. After graduating from law school, Drazin served as a judicial law clerk in Union County for the Honorable Lawrence Weiss and Edward Beglin, Jr. Following his clerkship, he attended the National Institute of Trial Advocacy in Boulder, Colorado, and he has also completed courses in medicine at New York University Medical School and traumatic brain injury in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Drazin lectured on "Toxic Torts" for the American Bar Assocation in Washington, D.C., and on expert opinion evidence for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education in New Jersey. He has served as an instructor and lecturer on "Cross-Examination of Medical Experts in Soft Tissue Injuries" at the ATLA-NJ Trial Academy; and has frequently lectured on trial strategy and "Hot Topics in Torts" for ATLA-NJ. Over the past four years he has been the program chairman of ATLA-NJ's annual seminar on Advanced Courtroom Communications. In 2002, Drazin published an article in the New Jersey Lawyer Magazine on cases involving mass torts or class actions. As an active volunteer in the Trial Lawyers Care program, Drazin has provided pro-bono legal services to over one dozen families from Monmouth County who were affected by the September 11th tragedy.
