David A. Mazie
Plaintiffs' Personal Injury Law - Roseland, NJ

David Mazie is one of the most successful trial attorneys in New Jersey today, having won settlements and verdicts totaling $150 million in the last three years alone. Widely regarded as an aggressive, creative trial attorney, Mazie, a native of Wayne, N.J., was recently voted the state’s top lawyer by his peers in New Jersey Monthly Magazine, and was named to Best Lawyers in America in 2005. He is a founding partner of Mazie, Slater, Katz & Freeman, LLC

After law school in Washington, Mazie returned to north Jersey and plunged into a trial practice at a respected litigation firm. Rivals and peers alike say Mazie emerged quickly as a creative thinker, and to this day he’s known for turning his opponents’ aggressive positions to his favor. Further, he has a history of taking foes to the mat: In January a jury awarded Mazie’s client – a young girl maimed by a drunk driver -- $110 million, the largest personal-injury award ever by a New Jersey jury and the largest liquor-liability award in U.S. history. The principal defendant: Aramark, the supplier of the beer served at New York Giants football games. Incredibly, Mazie had the case only seven months (another attorney had it for nearly four years), only reinforcing his reputation as a master tactician of hardball litigation.

He has won numerous multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements in personal injury, products liability, professional malpractice, business litigation and class-action cases. Mazie also represents the state’s physicians in class actions over claims-paying practices by Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Cigna Health Care.

Mazie is a lifelong Mets fan, and he enjoys tennis and travel. He lives with his wife and two children in Morris County, New Jersey.
