Dennis Drazin
Plaintiffs' Personal Injury Law - Red Bank, NJ

One of the things we learned as young attorneys working with our father was this: No case is unimportant. We will usually take the smallest case, because we worked hard and got results, and the client always came back - with larger, more significant cases. For decades we've had clients keep coming back - that's how we built out practice and our reputation.

Many know us as the Drazin brothers - based on our family's long history in the community. And it's not uncommon for people to ask for their case to be handled by "one of the Drazin brothers" - that's very gratifying for us.

One item that's created great misunderstanding is the changes in auto-insurance statutes. Many, many people are unaware that, when they choose a lower car-insurance premium, they usually surrender their legal right to claim damages for injuries in an accident. It's called the "Verbal Threshold" or "Lawsuit Threshold" and people often learn of it too late.

Although we have an active general practice, most of our work today is in personal injury - and it's a wide range, from medical malpractice to such major cases as "toxic torts". Each case represents a long-term commitment for us, in both time and in the firm's resources. But those high-stakes cases are of course where we can have the greatest impact. That's how you build a record, with tough cases. A mariner never distinguishes himself on a calm sea.

And adversaries are aware of that record. The fact is, it's easier to settle cases, because they'll see a well-prepared adversary in the courtroom. And that will always help our clients.

In every case, we try to explain the process, the correct rules of discovery, the importance of documenting injuries properly. We fight for victims to receive appropriate medical attention when insurance companies deny them that right. Communication is very important in every case - it's all about making a case stronger.
