Barry Epstein has been a longtime leader of several professional associations, including the Bergen County Bar Association (he served as its president in 1987-8), the New Jersey State Bar (president in 2000-01, among other positions) and the American Bar Association; he serves as a fellow of the ABA Foundation. He is a certified civil trial attorney and a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Epstein has written and lectured extensively on the law and the cases he has tried - the Institute for Continuing Legal Education has published such titles as "How to Try a Medical Malpractice Case" and "Hot Tips in Tort Law V, Battered Woman's Syndrome." He is a past member of the N.J. Supreme Court's Committee for Evaluation of Differentiated Case Management.
