From my first conversation with clients, I tell them that we are a team, and open communication is key. Keep me informed about the status of your injuries or your medical treatments. I always communicate all the issues of a client's case, its weaknesses and strengths, or anything that might get in the way of a fair settlement. I don't hide anything - I'm direct. And most clients will respond that they appreciate my honesty.

We don't run from the PI label - we never have. We've always considered ourselves personal injury lawyers. But we have a related commercial litigation practice as well. I know the diversity makes us better lawyers - we are simply drawing experience from a wider breadth of the law.

There are no small cases anymore, no more quick trials. Every case today is complex and demanding, requiring expertise and resources. In every case we are very collaborative - ours is a team approach. We strategize, discuss value, anticipate outcomes and look to where a case is going. We rely on each other.

I think we are very good at getting our clients true value. A lot of insurance companies will not discuss the financial estimates of a case, especially in the beginning. And even in the course of a case, value can change, based on the emergence of new facts and information.

We are always prepared. We read case law routinely, as it is published. I'm proud of the consistent quality of our work. We always work to put out an "A" product. Every brief, every memo, is thoroughly vetted and researched. Some lawyers cut corners, and get sloppy in communications and briefs. But we feel that every document that leaves our office is an extension of us, a representation of us and our clients. Every document tells the court, tells adversaries, tells everyone, that we are a quality firm. That's what our clients expect - and deserve.
