Gerald A. Schwartz specializes in Virginia personal injury and wrongful death law. He has more than 30 years of experience representing the victims of major car, truck and motorcycle accidents. With locations in Alexandria, Woodbridge, Manassas and Fredericksburg, his practice places strong emphasis on fracture and wrongful-death cases. The Virginia Trial Lawyers Association often asks him to teach other lawyers across the state on how to maximize recoveries; in 2011 he lectured across Virginia on how to maximize recoveries in fracture-injury cases. Mr. Schwartz is one of the “Top 100 Trial Lawyers” in Virginia, selected by the National Trial Lawyers Association. He has been selected as a “Virginia Super Lawyer” since 2007 and a “District of Columbia Super Lawyer” since 2008, and he is a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He is a leader among Virginia personal injury lawyers, serving as president of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association in 2006-07. “Today, in America, with juror attitudes influenced by tort reform propaganda, our clients who are injured by another’s negligence need us more than ever. We, as trial lawyers, stand alone at the bridge of responsibility holding wrongdoers accountable.”

Mr. Schwartz has specialized medical knowledge and training, which helps him understand his clients’ major injuries and complex medical treatment. He has a statewide reputation for having thorough knowledge of serious accident injuries and their complications, including fractures, herniated disc injuries, spinal injuries and nerve injuries. Schwartz is an honors graduate of Northeastern University College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions, Boston, MA. He is a former registered pharmacist, who practiced at a major teaching hospital medical center and community pharmacy advising doctors and patients about medicines. Today he is widely regarded as an expert on maximizing insurance recovery on major accident cases. He has written numerous articles on the law and is a frequent lecturer to lawyers on maximizing clients’ recoveries. He has given more than 75 lectures on handling personal-injury cases, and he is a faculty and board member of the Virginia College of Trial Advocacy. In 2007 he was honored to be the only lawyer to present the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association’s “Master of Advocacy” seminar across Virginia.

Peers say Mr. Schwartz is an energetic, aggressive and caring advocate for his clients. He is composed, trim (he works out vigorously every morning), dedicated - and unassuming for someone of his level of accomplishment as one of Virginia’s most successful personal-injury attorneys.
