Since 1988, Bob Bonney has been certified as a Criminal Trial Attorney by the New Jersey Supreme Court's Board on Trial Attorney Certification. He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and served as a trustee of its Criminal Law Section from 1986 to 1990 and the Section's chairman from 1989-1990. He served on the state Supreme Court Committee on Model Criminal Jury Charges from 1989 to 1992. He is vice president of the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey and has served as a trustee of the organization for many years. He is admitted to practice before the New Jersey and New York state courts and U.S. District Courts in the District of New Jersey and Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the Third Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. Bonney is a leader in several community initiatives, including The United Way of Monmouth County, where he serves on its Board of Directors, and has provided advisory and legal services to disadvantaged young people referred from Aslan Youth Ministries of Red Bank, where his practice is based. He has lectured widely on various criminal-defense and civil specialties, including health care fraud and forfeiture law.
