George J. Tyler

George J. Tyler was Assistant Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection for the last six years of a 17-year career with the Department. He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, and he chaired its Environment Law Section in the mid 1990's. From 1987 to 1994, he served on the Environmental Law Section's Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Environmental Quality Committee of the New Jersey Business & Industry Association, as well as and the Environmental Committee of the New Jersey Chemistry Council. He has been a member of the Technical Advisory Committee of the Center for Environmental Management at Tufts University. Tyler has also served in various community-service capacities, including as chair of the Garwood, N.J., Zoning Board of Adjustment; he currently serves on the New Jersey Council of Prison Fellowship Ministries and in the early 1990's was a member of the Governing Board and chair of the Development Committee, of the Princeton Alliance Church. He lectures frequently before such groups as the American Bar Association, the Air Pollution Control Association and the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, among others.
