BIOGRAPHY

Cynthia Borsella Lindemann is one of the most accomplished young matrimonial attorneys in New Jersey today, a positive and steady influence in a profession known for its contentiousness. Cheerful, personable and an excellent communicator, Lindemann is a strong complement to her peers at 11-attorney Weinstein Snyder Lindemann Sarno, PC; she has practiced with senior partner Edward Snyder virtually her entire career. A native of nearby Belleville, Lindemann grew up in Clifton. There, after college, she worked as a reporter for the local newspaper and she

hosted a community news program for cable television. Lindemann went on to attend the Weiss-Baron School of Broadcast Journalism in New York City. Finding that “all the issues I was reporting involved legal advisors and litigators, I was drawn to law school.” While in law school, Lindemann was first exposed to divorce cases. She became actively involved in the Seton Hall Family Law Clinic, which afforded her the opportunity

to work one-on-one with clients and to present her cases in court.... “I became accustomed to the court room and comfortable appearing before judges as a law student … it was an invaluable experience for me.” Lindemann served as a director of the clinic during her tenure there. After law school, she accepted a judicial clerkship with Hudson/Morris County Family Part Presiding Judge Stephen J. Schaeffer, whom she credits with giving her tremendous insight from a judicial perspective. Lindemann also served as a court-appointed mediator... “my first taste of applying my mediation skills.” Lindemann considers herself fortunate to have had a wealth of legal experience even before she entered private practice. She joined Snyder’s practice in 1988; “he needed someone like me who could hit the ground running....

"It’s always a team approach. I know our clients benefit from that. I think it is because we really care about our clients and, because of it, we are responsive to their needs."

and we had a good rapport from the start.” Through the ’90s she teamed with Snyder on major cases, and handled her own caseload as well. By 2001 she and Snyder joined Jeffrey P. Weinstein to create their current firm. Her partners, Angelo Sarno and Evan Weinstein, completed the firm which boasts a highly trained staff of associate attorneys, making it one of the largest and most successful firms dedicated to matrimonial law in the state. Lindemann is known for her strong writing skills and her effective management of cases, not intimidated by either strong-willed adversaries -- or clients, for that matter. Her practice involves more than simply managing and preparing cases for trial; increasingly Lindemann is in demand as a third-party mediator. She sits on the Essex County Early Settlement Panel. Her husband, Daniel Lindemann, is a Cranford-based attorney specializing in corporate litigation and non-profit medical and educational foundation work. They live in Wayne, New Jersey, and they spend as much time as their work schedules allow at the New Jersey shore. “We are excited about the revitalization of Asbury Park because we spend a lot of time there,” she says, adding, “We’re big Bruce fans.”
