Frank Louis' many affiliations date to the 1970s, when he began his practice in matrimonial law. He served seven years as chair of the family law committee of the Ocean County Bar Association, and served a term as president of the county bar, in 1985. He was more than two decades Ocean County's representative to the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section of the New Jersey Bar Association. In 1990 he received from the state bar the Tischler Award for contributions to the advancement of family law. He has been widely recognized in various surveys as among the leaders in divorce law, and has received the highest rating from the Martindale-Hubbell attorney reference. Louis is also a longtime lecturer, having appeared at the meetings and conferences of the major bar associations, accounting organizations, the Institute for Continuing Legal Education as well as National Business Institute. His writings have appeared in several publications, including the New Jersey Family Lawyer. The State Supreme Court over the years appointed Louis to several committees charged with reviewing issues and trends in state law; as part of that he served in the task force on the Status of Women in the Courts. Further, Gov. TKTKT appointed Louis as the state bar association's representative to the Commission to Study the Law of Divorce, which made recommendations to update the state's legal statutes.
