Margaret Goodzeit
Divorce Law - Woodbridge, NJ

Energetic, productive and upbeat, Maggie Goodzeit has emerged as one of the most active and successful matrimonial attorneys in the region. And in a firm of more than 90 lawyers - 7 of whom practice in matrimonial law - she is the only partner exclusive to that area. The New York City native studied music in her youth, but she knew early on that she would follow in the footsteps of her father, a successful Manhattan attorney. After graduating from Columbia Law School (following an undergraduate degree in accounting), Goodzeit began her legal career in New York where she quickly started concentrating in family law. Goodzeit joined Greenbaum in 1985, and for the last 18 years there has focused solely on family law. Widely respected for her quick mind, her consistently high-quality work and ability to thoroughly weigh all issues in a case, peers say she would someday make a first-rate judge. She lives with her husband - also an attorney - and their three children in Warren, New Jersey.

Margaret Goodzeit
"One of my biggest hurdles is disabusing clients of "bad information" they have received from friends, family and sometimes, unfortunately, other attorneys. Often they come to my office for an initial consultation with preconceived notions as to how they believe their matter will be resolved, but their idea of a "fair" resolution bears no resemblance to what the law provides. It is important to advise a client when his or her beliefs are not supportable."
