Schiffman, Abraham, Kaufman & Ritter, P.C.
Three University Plaza Suite 410 Hackensack, |
BIOGRAPHY Barry Kaufman's primary focus is family law, but his firm, Schiffman, Berger, Abraham, Kaufman & Ritter, P.C., provides services in a variety of legal disciplines, including corporate and commercial law, real estate development and transactions, environmental law, professional malpractice, franchise law, estates and trusts and employment discrimination. Kaufman became interested in matrimonial law while serving as a clerk for Passaic Superior Court Judge Harold Nitto in 1980-81. "It was a time when the equitable distribution statute was beginning to evolve," Kaufman says. The experience taught him not only the complexities of the law, but also the importance - and satisfaction -- of helping people at critical times of their lives. |
"Everyone needs to understand that: Virtually all areas of matrimonial law are fact sensitive. And that means that no two divorces are the same. That means that what you may have heard about a friend's divorce may not apply - and probably doesn't apply -- to one's own situation.
"
"We deal in a direct and sensitive way with people's lives, and it's a way that other disciplines of the law do not," he says. Copyright © 2002 - 2010 The Ten Leaders Cooperative |
