Divorce Law - Marlton, NJ

The goal in every family law case I handle is to amicably and expeditiously resolve the matter in a cost-effective manner. I previously completed the 40 hours for mediation training in family law cases which has enhanced my skills at resolving matters outside the courtroom.

Contested litigation is a last resort, but it is the reality of the practice. I have extensive litigation experience and a comprehensive knowledge of the New Jersey Rules of Evidence and Procedural Rules. This skill set enables me to be prepared to tailor the manner in which each individual family law dispute will be resolved.

I stress to my clients that when your case is litigated, you are asking a complete stranger to make decisions relating to your most personal and fundamental rights - your children and/or your property. Ultimately, how my client wishes to resolve his/her matter is his/her voluntary choice. I am able to provide them with the guidance and the skill to handle any direction in which they choose to take their matter.

I work hard to maintain a good rapport with my clients and stay connected with them. From the initial client consultation forward, I am always forthcoming and direct about the likely outcome my clients can anticipate. I educate my clients early on about maintaining reasonable expectations and use my 20 plus years of family law experience to help them understand how the facts unique to their case are impacted by the Law.

The process should not be used to taunt a spouse, or to put your children in the middle of conflict. I remain sensitive to the fact that the issues at hand relate to people and their relationships. At some point, I will no longer be counseling the client. However, especially if children are involved, the parties remain bound to one another.

As lawyers, we need to stay ahead of technology, or at least understand the impact that digital communication has on our cases. Clients should understand that what they post on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram may be used against them. As I tell my clients, if it's out there, I can find it, your spouse can find it and his/her lawyer has probably found it.

I've been privileged to work with some of the best judges and lawyers in the state. I've represented clients in courthouses in most counties throughout North and South Jersey, which has made me a well-rounded advocate who can appear comfortably in courthouses across the state.

At the end of the day, you need to ask yourself who do you want to be? I am hopeful that I have helped people through a difficult time with dignity and when appropriate, a sense of humor.
