Divorce Law - Morristown, NJ

I tried other areas of the law - mass tort litigation, corporate transaction work - and honestly almost all of it bored me to death. I never felt as though I was making any kind of difference. Once exposed to family law, I felt drawn to it. It's not all about the drama of divorce - yes, there is some of that. For me I love to work on the various dimensions and complexities of clients' lives - business issues, real estate, taxation, support and custodial issues. They are going through one of the hardest times of their lives. I want them to know I am here for them, working tirelessly to get them through this process and move toward a better future. I often see people at their most vulnerable - as a human being I want to help get them back to their "true" self, and I feel a great sense of accomplishment when I do.

With divorce, there are clients who really want to war with their ex-spouse: They'll say, "I'd rather give you my money that give a dime to my spouse." OK, I've heard that plenty now. But at some point it's not a constructive attitude, and we really have to work past that. Otherwise these disputes can go on needlessly and painfully - until everyone starts to question their own sanity, and everyone else's.

I have a strong work ethic and I am certainly a Type A when it comes to my work - I know where I get all of that from: My family, and especially my father. My parents, and my older brother and sister, have a unique work ethic. The older I get the more that I see it is unique. Not everyone has it.

I found early on that I had a real knack for family law. With Fox Rothschild's legal expertise in virtually every area of the law, I don't think there is really any comparison with small boutique firms. We have the resources that other firms simply don't have, with the ability to bring in attorneys with extensive experience in tax, estate planning, corporate, appellate and real estate law.

With as much as I have already accomplished in my profession, I also recognize that in many respects I am still just getting started with my career - but I love it. I have from the start. I know I am making a difference in my clients' lives, and I look forward to a long career where I will continue to do so.
