James P. Joseph is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, the New York State Bar and the American Bar associations. He serves on the Matrimonial Committee of the Nassau County Bar, and on the Family Law Committee of the New York State Bar. He serves as a mediator in the Early Neutral Evaluation Program of the Supreme Court, a process for resolving litigated divorces. James Joseph also serves on the Fee Arbitration Panel of the New York State Office of Court Administration - an important post in which he and others rule on fee disputes involving Nassau County attorneys and their clients. While in law school, he began the Long Island Chapter of the Unemployment Action Center, Inc., a student run non-profit organization which provides free legal services to those who have been wrongly denied unemployment insurance benefits. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Hofstra Law School Alumni Association.
