Tom Elliot is a partner in the firm of Moran, Brodrick & Elliot, one of the leading firms dedicated to the practice of matrimonial and family law on Long Island. Elliot, low-key and easy-going, by his own estimation is not one for flashiness or self-promotion. He brings to his firm steadiness and strong analytical and writing skills. In 1987 Elliot graduated with honors from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University with a B.S. in Environmental Studies and a concentration in Environmental Law. In 1992 he received a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, having graduated near the top of his class, and was admitted to the New York State Bar in February of 1993. During his law school career, Elliot was named to the Dean's list and received several awards, including the prestigious American Jurisprudence Award in Family Law and the American Jurisprudence Award in Commercial Transactions, Commercial Paper and Banking. Early in his legal career, Elliot worked for a prominent Nassau County Law firm, which specialized in matrimonial law. In 1998, he joined the long-established firm of Moran & Brodrick as an associate, where he continued to specialize in the practice of matrimonial and family law. Elliot's role in the firm has evolved and expanded through the years and he was named a partner in January of 2004.
