Lee Rosenberg
Divorce Law - Garden City, NY

Long Island native Lee Rosenberg has long been one of New York’s leading matrimonial lawyers, thanks in part to an energy, a natural curiosity and a unique command of the law and how it impacts his clients. He has practiced family law for more than 30 years and assumes a leadership role both in the profession and at his firm. What’s more, at his firm Rosenberg has long been counted on for his organizational skills and productivity, and even more so today. (Co-founder Michael Chetkof passed away in 2020.)

Rosenberg was born in Manhasset and grew up in Dix Hills. In college, Rosenberg, the son of a commercial builder, envisioned a teaching career - “I loved history and social studies” - but law school beckoned. In 1986 he joined a small Hicksville firm with a general practice that focused on commercial law, real-estate transactions representing Barclays Bank, matrimonial law and personal injury law. By 1996 Rosenberg had teamed up with long-time partners, Bill Saltzman and Michael Chetkof to form his present firm of which he is also administrative partner. Rosenberg’s focus has been on divorce law and the firm represents clients in Nassau and Suffolk Counties as well as in the City of New York.

Peers say Rosenberg possesses a true enthusiasm for the law. He recognizes the personal challenge that each divorce case presents him. “We wear a lot of hats. We must be knowledgeable in many areas including taxation, accounting, the actuarial field, negotiation, even psychology. All those roles make my work that much more interesting.” A frequently published author and lecturer in addition to his litigation and appellate skills, Rosenberg has also been trained in divorce mediation and collaborative law to help find more ways to try and find settlement solutions for his clients.

Rosenberg lives in Huntington with his wife and son.
