Quite a lot of our practice today involves complex litigation, including the valuation of professional practices and businesses. I take a lot of pride in using my financial and tax skills for clients. I find creative financial solutions – and I know that leads to positive outcomes for my clients.
Much has changed from when I started. Certainly divorce is more prevalent. Substantive rights today are certainly more equitable, but the costs and delays in the divorce process remain a major problem.
I am a litigator, and am comfortable in the courtroom. But that doesn’t mean I think heading to court is always the solution. From the first conversation I always tell my clients about the need to be in control of one’s destiny. A judge shouldn’t be making life’s major decisions for them. In that respect collaborative law is an important option for those seeking a divorce.
Being an advocate is what I do best. I’m as strong an advocate as I need to be.
