Sanford Dranoff's near-legendary status in the New York matrimonial bar is reflected in his many longtime affiliations. Admitted to the New York State Bar in 1955, Dranoff is the founder of the American College of Family Trial Lawyers and serves as its president since 1994. He is also the co-founder of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and a former president on the United States chapter. He has held various executive positions at the Rockland County Bar Association, including President, Chairman of the Family Law Committee and Director. He was Chair of the Family Law Section of the New York State Bar Association and remains a member of the Executive Committee. Since the mid-1970s, Dranoff has chaired numerous committees of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He was President of the New York chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and then President of the National body. He has served as a member of the American Bar Association Family Law Section. He has received the highest rating from Martindale Hubbell and has been listed in "Best Lawyers In America" in every edition since it first began publication.
