People often ask what I do, and I tell them that I do complex commercial litigation with a large emotional component. And that's precisely what it is. The cases we handle are complex and challenging.

I'm not the kind of lawyer to start a fight on a client's behalf. If all a client wants is a fight, then I'm not their man. I'll refer those out to another office.

That said, all of us at Fox Rothschild vigorously advocate on behalf of our clients. At the end of the day we're problem solvers. In our line of work there are problem solvers - and problem creators. I like helping people. I like being a constructive part of someone's life - and giving that person the tools to deal with their future.

I'm not reluctant to take a case to court, but I'll always ask, do you want a third party making decisions that will effect you the rest of your life? I certainly wouldn't. Bottom line is that no one wants to kill the goose that laid the golden egg. We are always looking to take a constructive approach, always thinking out of the box.

When I came to Fox Rothschild, matrimonial law was barely on the radar screen of large firms. And in the beginning 90% of my clients came from inside the firm. Today 90% of my clients come from outside the firm.

Of course, nothing succeeds like success. Today clients who come to Fox Rothschild don't have a run-of-the-mill divorce. All of us handle cases that involve complex issues, often with high stakes.

We have a great group of people at Fox Rothschild. Our people are very professional, and they do their jobs extremely well. I'm just part of that.
