Mark Ashton is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and currently serves as a director of the Pennsylvania Bar's Family Law Section. He is a past director of the Montgomery Bar Association, and a former chair of the Chester County Bar Association's Family Law Section. Since 1994, he has been a master of the Doris Jonas Freed American Inn of Court, a group of 60 attorneys in the Philadelphia metropolitan area who concentrate their practices in family law, and has previously served as its president, vice president and treasurer. Ashton has authored numerous articles and lectured extensively on topics relating to marital and family law. In 2004, he was named to Philadelphia Magazine's list of leading attorneys, an honor bestowed by his peers. Ashton is a director of the non-profit Historic Yellow Springs Inc., which is the steward of 145 acres of open space and 14 historic buildings within the village of Yellow Springs, Pa.
