Dr Andrew Jacono has emerged as one of the top plastic surgeons in the region, an energetic and exacting physician who has developed a remarkable reputation in delicate and complex facial procedures. He is the author of a book on facial plastic surgery and creator of homeopathic remedies that optimize healing after aesthetic procedures. Today he is a Dual Board Certified surgeon, with offices in Manhattan and Great Neck.
A native of Long Island, Dr. Jacono wanted to be a surgeon from an early age. After medical school and his head-and-neck surgery residency, Dr. Jacono completed a fellowship under a renowned Rochester-based surgeon, who introduced him to some of the most advanced techniques in facial plastic surgery. He is one of a small group of surgeons board certified in both Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr. Jacono returned to Long Island in his early 30s to launch his own practice. Laser surgery and minimally invasive endoscopic facial cosmetic surgeries are central to his practice. Dr. Jacono is now perhaps the most experienced practitioner in the field of facial plastic surgery. ("I perform more facelifts in a month than most plastic surgeons do in a year.")
Dr. Jacono serves as Section Head of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at North Shore University Hospital at Manhasset. Further, he has medical privileges at seven hospitals on Long Island and Manhattan. He also performs procedures in a state-of-the-art surgery center and medical spa he opened on Long Island in 2008. Dr. Jacono is the creator of J Pak Systems, homeopathic remedies for healing optimization after aesthetic surgery. He has been featured extensively for his expertise on television programs including ABC's Good Morning America, Inside Edition, CNN, CNBC, and Discovery Fit & Health Network, as well as in publications like Family Circle, Newsweek, and USA Today. He is the author of a book, available to the public, called "Face the Facts: The Truth About Facial Plastic Surgery Procedures That Do and Don't Work," which helps patients make informed decisions about facial plastic surgery.
Although in great demand by many high-profile clients, Dr. Jacono still finds time to help people in need through his work as the National Chairman of the "Face to Face" project for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, which offers pro bono consultation and surgery to victims of domestic violence. For the past nine years he has also chaired "About Face: Making Changes," an annual Long Island benefit for survivors of domestic violence. His commitment to this pro bono work was the inspiration for "Facing Trauma," Discovery Fit & Health Network's reality show. The program follows a team led by Dr. Jacono, through the physical and emotional healing process of victims left disfigured by violence. Dr. Jacono's philanthropic contributions were recognized in 2006 by US Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy and by the Center for the Women of New York with a "Good Guy" Award. Dr. Jacono also donates his skills as a volunteer surgeon for "Beyond Our Borders," an organization that brings children from disadvantaged countries to the U.S. for surgery to repair disfigurement due to cancer, trauma, and birth defects.
Away from his office, Dr. Jacono enjoys skiing, music, drawing, painting and playing guitar.
